Nehemiah 12-13. Nehemiah understood the importance of order in worship. He reminded the people of the God’s command to tithe and keep the Sabbath. Both of these practices are safeguards to make sure worship is a regular part of our lives. When we give back to God what He has given to us, we are worshiping Him! When we honor Him by observing the Sabbath in rest and going to church, we are worshiping Him! These are practices that were established from the beginning when God came to dwell among His people in the tabernacle. God still requires our worship and allegiance, and we can do that through our tithing and keeping the Sabbath.
