Nehemiah 8-9.
Upon hearing the Word of the Lord read aloud, the people’s hearts were stirred. They fell on their faces in worship before the Lord. They repented of their sins and renewed their covenant with Yahweh. God’s Word is alive and active and will always accomplish its desired purposes in the lives of people. The enemy will try to do everything to distract us from reading and studying God’s Word because he knows the powerful affect it has upon the hearts and souls of those who listen.
