2 Kings 5. Naaman was not an Israelite, yet God used a young Israelite girl to bring the message of Yahweh to this army commander. Naaman was expecting a grand experience when it came to his healing, yet what Elisha told him to do was surprisingly simple: dip in the water of the Jordan River seven times. It was such a simple request that Naaman found himself insulted. Dip in the murky waters of the Jordan? Weren’t the rivers that ran through his country more beautiful and excellent? God moves and works in our lives in ways we don’t always expect. God is great and mighty and grand, and yet He meets us where we are, in the every day, seemingly mundane activities of life. May we not miss God in the simple, every day moments of life where we live and move and have our being in Him.
